Hmmm. To be staked, or not to be staked.
Sngmentors is a staking and coaching site where you get access to forums, videos and private coaching in exchange for about 60% of your profits. As you played more games, the profit split starts to shift in your favour. It'll likely start at 60/40 backer's cut, but can differ depending on your skill level.
If you are looking for private coaching outside of sngmentors (you don't want to be staked), I charge $100/hr. I coach using teamviewer, skype and popopop replayer to review student's HHs and comment on them.
At the beginning of your contract, we will give you x amount of money to begin playing. After every session, you'll post on our forum and say what the roll is at. At the end of every week, you'll transfer whatever profit was made that week to the head of the program (draqq). If you start at a 50% backer's cut/50% player's cut, then you'll keep half of your profit. If you have a losing week, we'll replenish the bankroll and you will owe cake (makeup). If you lose $200 one week, that means that that money has to be made up before you receive any new profit from the next week. As you play more games and get better, the players cut will increase in your favour.
We want students to be able to play/study a minimum of 15-20 hours a week. Obviously some weeks you will be busier than others, but that's what we'd like you to average.
We create pretty long contracts, usually 9 months to a year because we will put in a lot of time coaching at the beginning where the site will only receive a pretty small gain. Most of us make about $60-$120/hr playing online, so we need long contracts and high backer's cut to make it worth our while.
We expect you to put in a reasonable amount of time to studying and playing each week. Sngmentors can drop the student anytime we see fit if you don't fulfill your contract requirements (like having to play x amount of games in a given period of time).
We accept students after seeing hand histories from them and after having them answer some questions. Then we start the contract process if we are impressed by the hand histories and answers.
Please answer these questions if you're interested:
How long have you been playing poker, and how did you get your start?
What are the main games/limits you play, and how many tables do you usually play at once?
What is your computer setup, and what poker related software programs do you currently use?
How old are you, and what is your current job/school situation?
What are your plans as far as your poker career is concerned? Are you looking for full-time income, supplemental income, just a fun hobby you can make money at?
How much time per week can you devote to learning/playing poker?
What computer set up do you have? Do you use a HUD/stats? Do you have an ICM program like sngwiz and are you a member of any training sites?
What is your screenname?
Please send me some hand histories of whatever games you want to get staked for (18, 45 or 180 mans) if you are interested.
